At Robust we have partnered with EnvironmentPlus International to offset the negative environmental impact of training undertaken by us through ‘practical’ and ‘educational’ environmental activity programmes for young people with physical and learning disabilities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Robust Training is committed to actively managing its operations and growth in a sustainable manner and reducing its environmental impact, while balancing the concerns and interests of all its stakeholders. A coordinated and sustainable development approach is now taken across all of our operations.
Robust Training works closely with our community partner: EnvironmentPlus International CIC a not for profit Community Interest Company which has a specialist team dedicated and responsible for environmental efficiency issues and implementing programmes across our business.
EnvironmentPlus International CIC on our behalf strategically:
- Liaises with key stakeholders, including Government agencies, the community, customers and supply chain partners on environmental issues
- Implements and integrates environmentally efficient practices to ensure continual improvement in operational performance.
- Develops management systems to minimise environmental risk by identifying and managing significant environmental impacts and encouraging continual improvement in environmental performance
- Requires analysis and monitoring of fuel and energy efficiency initiatives across the business
- Provides specialised environmental advice for major projects
- Develops and oversees the environment audit programme
- Provides environmental management training, advice and support to Robust Training employees
The Robust Training and EnvironmentPlus International CIC partnership will assist us to:
- Undertake environmental activity and offset programmes with young people in the community
- Work with the ‘Environment + Green Team’, a group of community volunteers who are committed to community environmental initiatives
- Launch an internal staff recognition programme 'Environment + Staff' designed to recognise and reward environmental innovation by Robust Training employees.
- Work towards developing E-learning programmes and the use of e-portfolios as part of our training strategy for future learners
- Fund international doctoral research activities linked to environmental experiential learning for young people (United Kingdom / Azores Islands / Canada)
- Provide specially tailored environmental programmes for young people with special and additional educational needs and those with disabilities
Green Hosting
All Robust training websites are hosted with the environment in mind. Server consolidation through virtualization improves energy efficiency via the decommissioning of unnecessary physical servers and higher utilization of the remaining, more energy-efficient servers.
