Qualification Overview
The EDI Level 2 NVQ in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving has been developed from the National Occupational Standards produced by GoSkills, the Sector Skills Council responsible for this area. The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of individuals who are employed in providing a passenger transport service by road. This NVQ is intended to apply to similar occupational roles within a number of identified employment areas of the land passenger transport sector. Specialist units are available for the following roles:
- Community Transport
- Taxi / Private Hire
- Chauffeur
Qualification Structure
To achieve a full certificate in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving, you are required to achieve 9 units in the chosen route made up through the 7 mandatory units and 2 optional units in the chosen route.
Mandatory Core (8 Units)
UNIT 1 Ensure the health and safety in your work environment in the Road Passenger Transport Industry
UNIT 2 Drive community transport, chauffeured, taxi or private hire vehicles safely and efficiency
UNIT 3 Provide professional customer service in the Community Transport, Chauffeur, Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle Industries
UNIT 4 Deal effectively with difficult passengers
UNIT 5 Deal with emergencies and incidents during a journey transporting passengers in the Community Transport, Chauffeur, Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle Industries
UNIT 6 Provide a transport service in the Community Transport, Chauffeur, Taxi and Private Hire Vehicle Industries for passengers who require assistance
UNIT 7 Achieve effective working relationships with colleagues in the Road Passenger Transport Industry
UNIT 8 Transport children and young persons by taxi, private hire or chauffeuring

The EDI Level 2 NVQ in Road Passenger Transport Operations has been developed from the National Occupational Standards produced by GoSkills, the Sector Skills Council responsible for this area. The aim of this qualification is to contribute to the skills, knowledge and overall performance of individuals who are employed in providing a passenger transport service by road.
Within your job role you need to be able to show that you can carry out a range of work activities in a variety of contexts. Some of these activities will need to be complex or non-routine tasks that may be carried out when you work as part of a team. In addition you need to show that you can take responsibility for your own work and work by yourself when needed.
When you have completed the EDI Level 2 NVQ in Road Passenger Transport Operations you will be gaining recognition for your experience in the key areas of:

Qualification Structure
To achieve a full certificate you are required to complete 3 mandatory units and 5 optional.
